Maverick Ranch RV Park 

We stayed at Maverick Ranch on a recent trip to Big Bend National Park. Many people shy away from staying here because its another 20 minutes outside of the Study Butte-Terlingua area and therefor further from the park entrance. However, we felt the extra 20 minutes was well worth the advantages of staying at Maverick Ranch which is part of the Lajitas Golf Resort, so all the amenities of the golf resort are also available to RV guests. And, being 20 minutes outside of Terlingua puts it right at the door step of Big Bend State Park.

Maverick ranch is very nice and in my opinion the best RV park in the Big Bend area. Its clean, the staff is friendly and there are many amenities such as a very nice pool area. Its a “buddy site” set up (meaning every other site faces the other direction) which might seem like a turn off but actually makes your outdoor area seem much larger. We didn’t feel infringed upon by our neighbors at all. It’s one of those RV parks that feels more like a friendly neighborhood where folks want to get to know each other. In fact we made new friends that we still stay in touch with.
