You’ve invested a lot in your RV so it’s important to protect that investment. Problems will always surface with RV ownership but proper maintenance can limit many of those problems. These are some of our go-to products to maintain the RV we call home.

Aero Cosmetics Waterless RV Wash      

Nobody wants the dirtiest RV in the park but most RV parks have restrictions on washing your rig. This simple to use waterless wash kit is the perfect answer, One use and it pays for itself. After the initial investment all you need is the wash refill.

RejeX Polymer Finish

This is an affordable wax or ceramic alternative that is easy to apply. It will make your RV stand out in crowd with its high gloss finish. It can be used on all painted surfaces, glass plastic and more. One bottle covered our entire 35′ motorhome and Jeep.

RV Inline Sanitizer

You should sanitize your entire fresh water system with bleach annually. There are plenty of videos that do a good job of explaining how to do this, but I also found this device that makes the process so much easier. Actually we met the inventor at an RV show.

Digest-It Black Tank Treatment 

Well, I guess it’s the crappy side of RV life but a necessity no doubt. There’s a lot of black tank treatments on the market and we’ve tried our share of them. We’ve been most happy with this product by Unique. Just a couple of capfuls and no smells, no clogs, no problems.

3-In-One Slide Seal Conditioner

The rubber seals on your slide-outs protect your RV from all the outside elements entering the inside of your rig. Keeping the rubber clean with soap and water should be a regular maintenance task, but I also recommend occasionally conditioning them with this product.

3-In-One Slide-out Silicone Lube

It’s important to use a dry lube on items such as your leveling jacks and slide rails. Products such as this one from 3-In-One, or alternatively CRC Dry PTFE Lube, will keep dirt from attracting to the surfaces. It’s advised to use this sparingly on your slide rails.

Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Sealant

If you own an RV you likely have this product on your roof surface, covering seam, screw holes, and sealing around all the devices on your roof to eliminate any chance of water leaks. Your roof should be thoroughly checked regularly to touch up any gaps in the Dicor.

Fluid Film Rust Protection

We spent a month and a half in Galveston and it was amazing just how much surface rust appeared on any bare metal surfaces. I use this product when I see any rust and it stops it in its tracks. It’s amazing how effective it is. Definitely something you want to keep handy.

Winterize Blowout Adapter

To winterize your RV you have a choice of two methods, adding RV antifreeze to the fresh water system or properly draining the system. If you choose the latter, you will need this adapter to assure all of the water is removed from the system.

Camco RV Water Heater Tank Rinser

RV water heaters should be drained and cleaned periodically. In order to get all of the sediment out of the tank you need one of these tank rinse devices that attaches to the end of a water hose. Camco is a reliable brand and I like the shutoff valve.

Thetford RV Drain Valve Lubricant

Add this to your annual maintenance schedule if you haven’t already. It’s a simple and necessary solution to lubricate the black and grey valves from the inside. Just poor the recommended amount into the toilet and sink or shower and you’re good to go.

Flow-Rite Qwik-Fill Battery Kit

Unless you have lithium or maintenance free batteries, you need this to make maintaining your batteries so much easier. Just replace the battery caps with their float caps and connect the hoses to the hand pump. One kit covers up to 2 batteries.

Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum

Just like they advertise, powerful and lightweight. We are really happy with this vacuum. It stows in the closet where it stays plugged in and charged. It doesn’t take up much space and it does an exceptional job with all the dirt and dog hair. Lots of attachments and hand wand.

Meguiars Wheel & Tire Cleaner

After you’ve cleaned the outside of your RV, it’s time to clean the wheels and tires. This non acid cleaner from Meguiars makes the process safe and simple. Just spray on, lightly brush and spray off. It’s safe on painted and chrome wheels so no worries.

Mothers VLR

Automotive cockpits are typically a combination of leather, vinyl and even, in some cases, rubber. You don’t want to use a vinyl cleaner on leather and visa versa. This VLR cleaner from Mothers is an excellent product and works on all these surface.

Liquid-less Laundry Detergent Sheets

Space and weight are the two enemies of RV’s, you know it. Laundry detergent can be a big challenge in this area, not to mention a potential hazard with spilling. These laundry sheets are the perfect solution. They are compact, lightweight and no liquid concerns.
