Viofo A119 Mini Dash Cam
A dashcam is a good addition to any vehicle, including motorhomes. It’s great protection in case of an accident or other traffic issue. Additionally, it’s a great way to document your travels across this beautiful country. This particular model is a great value with high end features.
Ritchie Navigation Compass
I find it extremely useful to have a compass visible in the cockpit. I mounted this on top of the dash just over the instrument panel were it is free from other magnetic interference. It has adjustments to calibrate and once done so, it is very reliable. It also can be backlit.
Kasa Security Camera
We use the Kasa camera to check in on the dogs when we are away. It’s has great 2k HD video quality and tons of features such as pan/tilt and night vision. It even has a microphone and speaker so we can talk to the pups from afar. We just connect it to our coach Wi-Fi.
Temp Stick Temperature Sensor
Great American made product for remote monitoring of temperature and humidity. We always set our AGS when we leave, but need the peace of mind that the dogs are OK. Works off of Wi-Fi so no subscription services required. It just works!
Starlink Roam
As full-time RVers, connectivity is critical and we visit many areas where there is no reliable cell service. StarLink broadband satellite internet is a game changer! The folks at SpaceX have figured it out and made it simple to get fast, reliable internet anywhere.
FlagPole Buddy for Starlink
If you have a ladder on your RV you will want this pole setup for your Starlink – this is teh piece that really makes it easy. Their innovative design makes setting up and tearing down your dish a 2 minute task. It’s not the cheapest solution but it sur is worth it.
Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G Router
If you want to take connectivity to the next level, this Peplink solution might be for you. The high end router, built for critical environments, can be used with multiple internet sources (including StartLink) and multiple SIM cards for carrier redundancy and hot failover.
EEZTire TPMS
As surprising as it is, most motorhomes do not come with built in Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TMPS). A blowout in an RV can be catastrophic. The EEZTire is a great option. This 10 sensor version will cover 6 coach tires and your tow vehicle. TST is another good option.
Sound Bar with Subwoofer
Today’s flatscreen TV’s have horrible sound. We needed a compact soundbar to enhance the sound, but ended up with a full coach sound system with bluetooth and optical connectivity. The adjustable subwoofer and three sound modes provide an enriching sound.
Carbon Monoxide & Propane Gas Alarm
I hear a lot of complaints with the detectors that come with RV’s from the manufacture. They seem to be prone to false alarms, which can be extremely annoying and dangerous. I’ve had great luck with one from MTI Industry. Plug and play for 2-wire configurations.
Viofo A119 Mini Dash Cam Is no longer available, do you have another suggestion of a model and brand?
I believe you can buy that one directly from VIOFO. Other alternatives are the 119 or the A129 pro. If you want a rear camera as well they have the 129 Duo
Sorry for the (very) late reply. They have upgraded it to teh 119A now.
Brain,
We are thinking of doing Starlink. Where did you run the cable to the inside for the router?
Fred & Linda Cole
We were next to you in Moab last summer
Good to hear from you guys. I put the router in a basement compartment that had power and then simply ran the cable through a hatch opening and under the coach to the ladder pole mount in the back. No need to put the router inside the coach.
I used this mount which I installed on the inside of the door.

Thank you Brian!
Good to know. Fred’s been trying to figure out where to wire it up into the coach.
We have a slide out to fix and a jack to replace. Always something.
Very much enjoy your travel stories and pictures. Looks like we have missed a few things in our travels.
Thank you again for the info,
Fred & Linda
It’s always somethings isn’t it! 🙂
We put those missed things on our “go back” list for next time. A good excuse to return.
Glad you’re enjoying the blog.
