Hi Brian, beautiful pictures and fabulous information on the Petrified Forest National Park. We will stopping there on our Route 66 trip next month. Traveling in our GTS 34M5. No toad. Will we be able to drive through the park on route to Holbrook with the motorhome?

You should have no problem traveling through the park in the Georgetown. Your biggest challenge will be parking along the way depending how busy the park is. No TOAD will definitely help.
If you decide to go to meteor crater, they do have RV parking.
      Have fun!

Hi Brian, thank you for your response. Last week I sent you an message regarding traveling the PCH 1 in our 38′ Georgetown, after reading your blog on California PCH and Oregon. Just wondering if you received it? Should I try to resend my questions?

        • Brian says:

I did not receive it. Yes, try sending it again on the Big Sur blog.

Hi Brian, OK, I sent my long email to “Contact Us” instead of responding in comments on a blog. After reading your blogs on Big Sur, California and Oregon I had a few questions for you and was looking for your advice. We are traveling Route 66 and will be ending up in Santa Monica and heading North to the Canadian Border in a 38′ Georgetown no toad. My husband has some limited mobility and this will be our trip of a lifetime bucket list and we would like to see as much as we can out of the front windshield as not able to do all the scenic hikes. My first question, in your opinion do you think we will be ok going through LA to the pier? We would like to keep to the route 66 as much a possible and concerned about rush hour traffic parking etc. My husband is a very good driver and can maneuver in tight spots. Any alternative suggestions if the above is not doable would be appreciated. We would like to continue north on PCH 1 hugging the coast as far as we can but I think you mentioned not practical around Florence due to tunnel we are 12′ 3″ for clearance. We also want to stay in and travel through as much of the Redwood Forest as possible with our rig. Could you recommend a good route for us to take taking into consideration our limitations. Thank you for your valuable insight and expert advice. I really appreciate it. Thank you.
